APPRECIATING YOUR BEING
Appreciation is an expression of admiration, approval or gratitude. When you appreciate something or someone, you place value upon it. You understand its worth or quality or significance and place it in high regard. You can look outside yourself and recognize the beauty, contribution or excellence of someone or something. You can look within yourself and value a feeling, a gift or a greater truth.
Appreciation occurs in the present moment
Appreciation is a wave emanating in the present. Whether you appreciate aspects of your past or are looking forward into the future with appreciation for new opportunities, the wave of high vibrations coming from appreciation is in the now. It’s a gift that happens in the present moment. When you are appreciating, you give yourself a gift of moments of admiration, recognition and gratitude. Appreciation is a gift you give yourself that expands your heart in soft pleasure. By appreciating something or someone, you open to the gifts of life. You recognize and understand beauty, wisdom, delight, value and caring. Appreciation fills your moment with those gifts. It’s uplifting, heart-warming, and filled with wonder.
THE APPRECIATION MEDITATION
I created this meditation, to awaken and expand feelings of appreciation in life and for life. As you connect with what you do appreciate, you can increase it. As you extend appreciation to others, you expand the feelings of joy and well-being.
Appreciation is a huge part of my day. When I look at and admire the magnificent sunsets in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I feel a deep appreciation and awe. I am honored to be in that moment when the skies relinquish the sunlight in splendor, when the sun cascades the last light of day into the clouds and the mountains. I am filled. I watch it all. In my appreciation, I send this recognition to the sun, the skies, the mountains, Mother Earth and the Divine. I connect with all the people enjoying this sunset with me in the world, where ever they are and who ever they are. I know they all hear me. The sun, the skies, the mountains, Mother Earth, the Divine, they all hear me. We join together in the joy of our mutual appreciation. It expands the moment into something even larger, even more profound and delightful.
